Finally the waits over and KBS onair its most awaited Royal drama Seven Day Queen. As we were to obsessed with the ancient dramas our expectation for this serial were a bit high. Its the story from King Yeonsangun region of Joseon Dynasty.
The palace become an uproar after the death of King seongjong. His elder son Lee Yoong take over the throne (Yeonsangun). He has the half brother Lee Yeok later known as Jinseong.

It was lady shin who mourn over her parents brutal death. She come to take revenge from the King and when tried to pull the dagger on him the king caught her and was thrown out of the King's quarter. She was all heartbroken with the teary eyes walking on the path which has no destination. She looks overhead at a bird flying by and thinks to herself, If I am reborn, I will never meet you, your majesty. The first scene was really miserable.
The curiosity was kept its heights and we couldn't able to guess whether she was hanged to death or the orders were taken back. It was the flash back scene of Prince Lee Yeok and Lady shin childhood look like the writer must decide to drive the viewers crazy out of curiosity and take them back to the past.
Prince Lee Yeok tried every thing to make the rain happen but in the end he become the fool when his majesty said "have fun playing". No body take Prince Lee Yeok serious except the Queen.
After passing by the play area of the prince Lee Yeok his Majesty reminded of the childhood how their father always cares and favors Lee Yeok over him. This makes him jealous and think the father never see him as his child as he only shows his love for the little Lee yeok and only cares for him. In anger he kick the jar which Lee Yeok left.
Later we saw another side of Prince Lee Yeok who love to roam around in the village with his best friends. On his way while catching the book which one of his friend threw in air he bumped into Chae Kyung and another argument took place. It wasn't the sole fault of the one but both happen to bump accidentally.
All Chae Kyung wants an apology from him not knowing he was the Prince of the nation. She followed them and ruined the atmosphere while the three friends were peeking on the lake. She shout to alert the ladies in the lake, this makes the prince embarrassed and angry.
She then run to save her own life. But was chased by the Prince and end up falling on the ground and was hit by the bird poop. She used her hand to remove the poop and clean it with Prince cloth, this was the least insult she did unknowingly to him, when realize she pushed him backward and make a way to run again.
She never thought she would bump into the Prince in the market place while selecting a present for her parents. The King turned out to be more childish and stubborn then he look. All he wanted to take revenge at any cost, but unfortunately Chae Kyung got robbed while arguing with the Prince. Now she has no reason to use and excuse to visit her parents as the important letter was also got stolen along with the money.
Poor Chae Kyung put herself in the big problem as she first leave the house without permission and then lost the letter and money wonder what will gonna happen to her. Prince lee yeok was playing with his friends when his majesty arrived. He went his anger on Lee yeok and drag his innocent friends into the mess. He then bet the lives and order Lee Yeok to have a horse race with him, if Lee yeok win he will spare his friends life if he loose he will be beheaded. We never thought his majesty will turn out this cruel towards his half brother who only looks on him praise and love him.
While Lee Yeok was on his way to the palace we thought he knew the shortcuts and will gonna reach the palace before the King but unfortunately his horse stop when Chae Kyung use the whistle sign the race stucked into a mess. His majesty along with his men was about to crush Chae Kyung who was in the middle of the road when prince Lee yeok saw her in danger he didn't think of anything but risked his life to save her.
This incident made him loose the bet and his life along with his friends were on the line. Luckily His majesty didn't go overboard and spare his life seeing how confident he was with the valid reason why should he die for nothing. also he never scared of the King from whom he learned the confidence to stand.
This incident scared the Queen to death. all she wanted to protect her only child as everyone notice his Majesty true intentions of getting rid of lee yeok. She warned him not to trust the King and this Heinous thought of the Queen were heard by his majesty who didn't give a chance to her to explain what's his reasons and order Lee yeok to marry with the daughter of Chief Royal Sectary, that way his life will be safe if he lived quietly far away from the palace,
After scolding his dear half brother His majesty didn't had the peace of mind and leave the palace as he feels stuffy and pressured. He thinks going out from there will make him relax and cool his mind. Lee yeok decided to reconcile and ask forgiveness from the king. He played lute not knowing his majesty wasn't inside the room.
Chae Kyung was wondering around the city when saw someone on the white horse running towards the main gate. She thought it was the same person who robbed her earlier at the market place. She followed him outside and the door were closed. She also lost the person but later found him by the lake.
Before she could explain things his Majesty caught her spying and wanted to knew the reason why she followed him. It was the first encounter of Chae Kyung with Lee Yoong his majesty. She become too startled and speechless when saw him all naked in the water late at night. She dunk her head in the water to hide but couldn't make it too long and when try to look up his Majesty was close enough to near his face she then become a statue looking at the bear abs of him and couldn't understand the meaning and the way he looks in her eyes.
All she remember was to breath as the water was too cold for them to stay in. The episode ends here, stay tuned to find out what will gonna happen to Chae Kyung how will his majesty going to treat her will she receive a punishment and knew how recklessly she treats his majesty.
