After finish watching the phantom thief Iljimae we were curious about the return of iljimae and thought it would be the second part of Iljimae but all in vain. It comes out to be another seperate plot drama. We like challenges and action so we watch this drama. It was a bit difficult to understand many complicated scenes make us bore.
At the same time it was realistic and heart warming. The relationship between Iljimae and Wol Hee imediately develop after Dalyi's death. It was like a love triangle the center of the plot was two girls and a boy.
When we finish watching half of the episodes Ambreen got bore and ask to drop the drama but Me (Naureen) insisted watching it. Our confusion was who does Iljimae like the more Wol Hee or Dalyi? But it comes out Iljimae only had a short affiliation and interaction with Wol Hee before he disappear.
After few years when he return with a heavy heart he fight for the injustice and tyranny for the sake of his class people and other commoners. When ever he appear to stop bad guys or corrupt people and uphold justice he leaves behind a single branch of an apricot tree which is also said "golden plum bossom branches".
The story further contines people were curious who is the man behind the mask. He continue to rob the rich and help the poor.
There were also sweet moments of love when he falls for Wol Hee.
This plot wasn't much interesting like Iljimae and Hong Gil Dong but being ancient drama based on the theme of theif we watched it. The tempo was slow like a turtle.
It leads the happy ending. We won't recommend it to you but if you want to watch it, it will be at your sole risk.
