Watching Korean Sageuk we gradually become addicted to it. As there was lot much to knew and learn how things happen in the ancient time and how people sacrifice to invent new things. Ruler master of the Mask another historical serial which took us to the world back when people sell water and make life difficult for the poor.
The serial starts with Dae Mok who was the owner of Pyunsoo Group, not only only the leader but also the grand wizard who plot the biggest conspiracy against the nation. It was a really horrifying scene reminded us of the drama "Arang and the Magistrate", he turned one of his pupil Yoon into the King over a deal. After he end up killing the previous king.
After 10 years king got blessed with a son and Dae Mok threaten him to give the authority of the water supply and make the crown prince a member of Pyunsoo Group. The King become agressive over hearing this and didn't respond to his wish, he plot another conspiracy to kill the crown prince. We really getting chills what if he was successful in killing the crown prince what's story will take place in the history and who will be the next to take the throne.

We thought he would sent him out of the capital somewhere in the mountains and made him learn how to survive in the scary world but he decided to hide the Crown Prince inside the palace under the mask so no one could knew an identify his face.
The story become more thrilling as rumors spread about the Crown Prince having the scary face, who ever got to see his face will be killed. This reminded us of the recent drama "Moon Lovers Scarlet Heart" & "Hwarang: The begining".
The crown Prince Lee Sun was too intelligent but always act stupid, he love to read books and enjoy his time in the flowery garden. No one was allowed in there. By the time he become an adult with the handsome smiling face ever, aside this he has a rebellious personality and wonder why the king made him wear the mask all the time.
He assume its for security but was told he has an incurable disease in the childhood so he has to wear the mask till it cures and the danger completely leaves his life. This explanation really sucks we couldn't digest why made the Crown Prince wear the mask.
One Day hwa Goong the grand daughter of Dae Mok visit the palace with her uncle and got to meet with the Queen. The Queen ask the court lady to show her the palace so she didn't get bore, but Hwa Goong in curiosity sneaked in the flower Garden and accidentally saw the bare face of Crown Prince. One of the Eunch came and Crown prince quickly hide her in order the innocent life he knew she didn't do it purposely so he let her go.
The curiosity made him dig the truth as he don't believe King words and wasn't allowed to go outside the palace neither one can meet him so he disguised him as the common man and leave his Eunuch in his palace. It was the very first time the Crown Prince went out of the palace in the real world. He did not knew how to move in the society, everything for him was for the very first time. He act all sturdy, stupid and idiot and later smile on what he did earlier.

While passing through an alley the Crown Prince come to knew about the drought and people suffering from the lack of water. Then he saw at the market place some people were selling water unintentionally he let the child drink the water and was surprised when ask 3 buck money for a bowl.
He couldn't understand why one need money for water. The chaos occurred the people who were there make a scene and steal the water without paying.
The Pyunsoo Group soldiers came and shoot the Crown Prince thinking he was the one who created the trouble. Thankfully the Crown prince was saved by the book he was wearing. He then ran to save his life when notice being targeted. While running he bumped into Ga Eun. We wonder what will going to happen, will he become the prey of Pyunsoo group and stuck in their trap or will Ga Eun going to help him hiding him somewhere.
