Bridal Mask the drama chosen by my sister. It look bore to me when i read the synopsis and didn't agree to watch. But after watching the first episode it looked quite interesting with the lead cast Joo Won "the angry young man" and Jin Se-Yun "not less then any one".
The story was a bout a super hero who was expert in martial art. Two brothers Lee Kang-to and Lee Kang-san. The story took a turn when the younger brother Lee Kang To become a rising star in police force under Japanese rule to capture Mystrious Freedom Fighter "Bridal Mask".
I wonder what was in writers mind who wrote a story like this. At times this super hero remind me of Iljaeme, City Hunter, Capital Scandal, Hero.
Gaksital was the elder brother of Lee Kang To who was playing the role of another Bridal Mask. During the day time he live like a foll who lost his senses and at night he fight and punish the evil. He was running of Freedom movement campaign and hiding his identity from his little brother was was the government officer under Japanese.
Kang To became a prominent police but infamous to his fellow Joseon people because of his loyalty to the Japanese Governance. For him to catch Gaksital, he deduced that the key is to find the girl, Mok Dan/Boon Yi/Esther, whom he has already saved twice. Once from the deposed Joseon leader’s burial where she threw a stone and the other was when she created a disturbance to the trial of another freedom movement leader Dam Sa Ri, who turned out to be her father.
OMG it was the faith she was same friend from his childhood. The story took another turn and my curiosity become more and more to knew what will going to happen next. If Kang To Knew MoK Dan is the same love who is on the wanted list by Japanese.
Kang To was finally able to caught Mok Dan who was trying to flee. But he saw the knife and become shocked. It was the same knife he gave to his first love Boon-yi aka Mok-dan. Mok-dan treasured the knife so much because it was given by the young master-friend from her childhood. Unbeknownst to her, that young master was Lee Kang To of present time, the man she despised most because of his cruelty to his fellow Joseon men.
The story was getting more interesting Kang-to was not aware that his brother was using his mental retardation front to hide himself as the real Brial Mask. Things turned out against Kang To when his mother got killed and the blam goes to his elder brother Gaksital who was pretending to be a fool trying to save his mother he was also got killed and the very last moment he reveal Kang To his real identity.
After listening the least words Kang To took his brothers mask and clothes and promise him to take revenge. He finally become the Bridal Mask. The episode after this become more interesting and make me feel like i am the part of that hide seek play in the drama.
But then Shun-ji’s suspicion of Kang-to become centered and he put a spy on Kang To activities. It become too tense when the main leader Mok dan father got arrested and commanded to be executed. OMG what if i were to live in that era i won't survive for one day.
Kang To and Mok Dan rescued the leader and leave false trails to confuse the police department, but the strength of the Imperial force was not that easy to be defeated. It was very unexpected in the end that Kang To killed his friends Su Jin's father to avenge his father’s demise. It was so heartbreaking how their friendship has come to an end and after their fist fight where Kang-to still can’t make himself to kill his best friend.
The ending was too sad we weren't expecting that Mok Dan will be killed on the happiest day of her life getting married to Lee Kang To. It was tense and suspense watching Bridal Mask. It tool two days to be completed. Here listen the beautiful OST "When The Sun Sets".
